Cistercian Architecture in the 12th century.
A testimony of human capabilities when vision spirituality and discipline spearheaded a new culture.

One of the central vault springers was missing. With great pleasure I used this opportunity to challenge my skills.

1. On a square block I marked the upper outlines of the eight vault rib arches.

2. From the layout above, I shaped the arch incline to the springing line. Here, I began to shape the basic proportions of the meeting vault ribs on the central capital.

3. Finally I fine tuned the shape to meet the original dimensions

4. The central springer stone is now ready for installation, and will be surface treated with hand chisel marks after the setting.
